What are the advantages of LED LIGHTING?

led lightings
The success achieved by the LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting is by now established, but behind the statement: "with LEDs, you will save" often hides some confusion about what are the real advantages of this type of light.
Let's make a little bit of clarity to be able to choose more consciously this type of product to light up our homes.

To begin with, it is worth remembering that LEDs work differently than traditional solutions, they certainly guarantee lower consumption and a much higher color rendering, but there are other reasons why this "new" type of lighting has literally upset the market.

What is a LED?

LEDs are solid state luminous devices, they do not use filaments or gas, but rather a semiconductor material, i.e. a small chip coated with epoxy resin.

Functional advantages of the LED

Even if the initial cost of a LED bulb is generally higher than traditional ones, LEDs guarantee high energy efficiency with 70% energy savings compared to incandescent lighting.
Furthermore, while the classic incandescent light bulb generates heat in addition to light, LED technology does not generate heat and uses all its energy exclusively to provide light. This results in greater safety and a reduction in the risk of burns or fires

Another important factor in favor of LED technology is the durability of the product. The traditional incandescent bulbs have an average life of about 1,000 hours, the most durable ones with low energy consumption reach about 7,000 hours, while the LED ones, under optimal conditions, can reach a duration of about 50,000 hours.

Furthermore, unlike traditional lamps, LEDs do not suddenly switch off when their life is exhausted, rather they slowly decrease their initial flow until they run out.
A real difference, right? This obvious disparity guarantees considerable savings also from the maintenance point of view.

Led lighting is more resistant to shocks and vibrations, because as mentioned it does not have the internal filaments that we find in incandescent bulbs.

In summary, the main functional advantages of LED lighting are:
• It consumes much less energy and does not lose energy in the form of heat
• The appliances have a much longer useful life
• They are safer

Environmental advantages

From an environmental point of view, a theme that is rightly relevant in an age like ours, if we compare a LED bulb with a fluorescent one, the absence in the first case of mercury vapor and other gases, as well as the fact that the LED does not emit ultraviolet radiation, making it a much more ecological light. Furthermore, the aforementioned energy savings are advantageous not only for the wallet but also for our planet.

• LEDs do not pollute

LED friend of creativity: Design advantages

Another advantage of LEDs that is far from negligible is the possibility of having lights in a wide variety of colors, with flexible supports that do not place limits on creativity and that has given designers the opportunity to create innovative and high-impact lighting solutions aesthetic.
Thanks to the versatility of the LED a great growth and a huge change has been generated in the proposed solutions in the field of both interior and exterior lighting.

It is clear that the most efficient and advantageous lighting is that which uses The LED technology, and this explains the reason for all this success.
